The author recognizes that few of the policies are put into action and especially in regard to handling conflicts between students. The author identities that there are various factors that contributes to conflicts which range from race, gender and culture. Students should be protected from any harassment from their fellow students in the universities by the university management (Chinyowa, 2013). However, this cannot be achieved without the university guiding the students on how to manage different conflicts.To respond to these problems, Chinyowa recognizes that universities have adopted various means with the first one being drama. Through drama, the students are able to identify the causes of conflicts and how they are solved. This exposes them to different ways in which the conflicts need to be solved avoiding creating more problems. Through conduction of sexual harassment survey, it was identified that the majority of the student never report (Chinyowa, 2013). Therefore, the university management decided to engage the students to simulate their experience on sexual harassment. This enabled them to understand the different forms of harassments and how they should handle them. Integrated conflict mediation model further reinforced the lessons learned by the students in managing unnecessary conflicts.In summary, the author identifies harassment and conflicts in most universities in South Africa. Then he considers evaluating the causes of these problems, where he finds that studentsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ involvement is necessary. Through participation in dramas and other role simulation games, students ar e able to learn about conflict management. Further, different models are applied, which makes the learning easier and thus the achievement of laid down objectives.
